A little about me

I'm Nela, a Software Engineering student at FINKI with a passion for technology, creativity, and building things from scratch.

My work sits at the intersection of technology, education, and digital content. I founded BLESNI, an AI-powered math learning platform built for Macedonian students, while also working in social media, video content, and private mathematics tutoring.

I enjoy taking an idea from the first concept to something people can actually use — whether that means building a digital product, creating a video campaign, or designing a learning experience students actually stick with.

I'm currently expanding my knowledge in cybersecurity, and exploring how technology can be used to build practical, meaningful products.

The idea: I wanted to build more than another collection of math exercises. BLESNI is a personalized learning environment where students work through interactive lessons, practice with quizzes, track their progress by topic, and get help from an AI math assistant when they're stuck.

How BLESNI came together

The problem

Quality, personalized math help is hard to access for many students in Macedonia — tutoring is expensive and doesn't scale, and generic exercise apps aren't built around the local curriculum.

The idea

As a math tutor myself, I saw the same gaps repeat with every student: no structured progress tracking, no curriculum-matched practice, and no help available at 9pm the night before a test. BLESNI started as an answer to that.

The solution

A platform with three account types — teacher, student, and parent — built around lessons, quizzes, per-topic progress tracking, and an AI assistant that answers math questions in Macedonian.

My role

I designed and built the entire product solo: backend, frontend, data model, deployment, and the content and go-to-market plan around it.

Technology

Django REST Framework and React/Vite, PostgreSQL and Redis, JWT authentication, an LLM assistant via OpenRouter (Llama 3.3 70B), and Docker Compose for deployment with automated backups.

Challenges

Designing account and data-retention rules that hold up for real students and parents, not just a demo — automatic cleanup policies, safe defaults, and an auth model for three very different types of users, all as a solo developer.

Result

BLESNI is live at blesni.mk and in final preparation for its September 2026 launch, targeting 100–200 students and parents.

What's next

Onboarding the first real cohort of students, refining the AI assistant based on how they actually use it, and expanding topic coverage.
